in today’s stressed-out world, people are more likely to turn to technology and other non-traditional resources to soothe their growing anxiety
Last year, anxiety disorders affected 40 million American adults, or 18% of the U.S. population. And as stressors like finance, safety, and health bloomed, 39% of adults report being more anxious than the year before. Even as anxiety spiked, however, few Americans sought out professional care. Only 28% said they had seen a mental health professional of any kind. This leaves a big gap for alternative solutions.
Designers and thoughtful life-hackers are exploring options for providing people with new strategies, services, and devices to lessen the symptoms of anxiety.
They fall into two categories: DIGITAL and ANALOG.
