KEY INSIGHT

Scaling Mobility Hubs across LA’s diverse neighborhoods will require a thoughtful balance of consistency and specialization.

We must meet people where they are in three key dimensions:

  1. GEOGRAPHY
Hubs must be conveniently located to maximize their usefulness to Angelenos. Careful planning is required to determine the ideal locations for the 13 pilot Hubs so that they maximize accessibility and efficiency.

  2. TECHNOLOGY
Angelenos have a variety of comfort levels with technology, so our Mobility Hubs must reach both ends of the spectrum, providing easy-to-understand low-tech solutions alongside high tech connectivity and functionality.
These Mobility Hubs must also acknowledge the technology that Angelenos are already using: providing tools and services built on familiar platforms will dramatically improve adoption.

  3. CULTURE
LA is an incredibly diverse region, so each Mobility Hub must embrace the culture of its surroundings if it hopes to become integrated into the fabric of the community. This means incorporating local preferences for language and aesthetics, as well as providing space for local businesses and community events.
